Loch Gorm is the name given to Kilchoman’s annual sherry matured limited edition. Named after Islay’s largest fresh water loch neighbouring the distillery, the dark murky colour of the loch’s water is reflected in the rich coppery tones of their sherry matured Loch Gorm release.
What makes the Loch Gorm 2025 Edition particularly interesting and unique is that it is the first ever Loch Gorm to be aged for over 10 years in oloroso sherry butts. It is common for distilleries to use a variety of sherry producers but for Kilchoman’s consistent quality and character, they choose to source them all from just one bodega, Jose Miguel Martín.
Heavily peated at 50ppm the 2025 edition was matured in a selection of 23 Oloroso sherry butts, 20 fresh (first fill), and 3 refill (second fill).
“10 Years maturation in sherry casks has added an abundance of rich spices, dark fruit and barbecue sweetness to the light citrus and peaty character of Kilchoman.” – Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder.
