Longrow Red 11 Year – Cabernet Franc Cask Finish
In early 2018, Springbank added another release to their incredibly popular Longrow Red series! This time, the 11 year old, heavily peated Campbeltown single malt was initially matured in bourbon barrels for 9 years before being moved over to casks that previously aged Cabernet Franc wine. Past Longrow Red bottlings have enjoyed maturations in Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Port, Pinot |Noir and even Australian Shiraz casks!
Longrow Red 11 Year – Cabernet Franc Cask Finish
Region: Campbeltown
Nose: Raspberry and blueberry, joined by a hearty blast of earthy peat smoke.
Palate: Toasted vanilla pod, petrichor, jammy strawberries with a zesty hint of orange peel, continuing muscular peat notes.
Finish: A final waft of dense smoke lingers for ages on the finish.
