The Macallan Double Cask 18 Years Old is characterised by the perfect combination of European and American oak casks, seasoned with sherry wine in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
This expression, released annually, is an impeccably balanced, distinctive single malt with a sweeter character due to the influence of sherry seasoned European and American oak maturation.
Each cask selected in this expression has spent its entire maturation period of almost two decades exclusively in sherry seasoned oak casks.
The Macallan Double Cask Collection celebrates the perfect union of our exceptional sherry seasoned American and European oak casks, crafted and seasoned in our cooperages and bodegas in Jerez de la Frontera. This balance delivers a smooth and creamy single malt of exception.

From the exacting specifications of American and European oak selected by our sawmills in US and in Spain to the meticulous cask creation and sherry seasoning process at our cooperages and bodegas in Jerez de la Frontera, our casks take approximately five years to craft to our exacting standards. They are a testament to the patience and precision required to achieve excellence.
